In this episode I chat with Sean Brady about structural failures in civil engineering. We first discuss the technical and organzational causes for such failures. We then look at Sean’s specialty, forensic engineering, which is about analyzing failures to determine the root cause. Sean also has his own podcast in which he delves into much more detail about engineering failures, not just in construction.

As a retired construction supervisor and someone who is a ‘bridgeophile’, I found this episode fascinating. I remember the Westgate Bridge collapse ( I was 23 at the time) very well. Big news here in Australia of course.
Thanks, Markus.
Another exceptional contribution to the Omega Tau archives :-) Very well scripted and presented. Totally seamless transitions between topics by our host Markus. I love the variety of subjects covered here.
