When ships have an engine casualty, run aground or have a fire on board they need to be salvaged or their wreck removed. Specialised companies, like Ardent, focus on salvaging ships or removing wrecks. These tasks are sometimes challenging from an engineering perspective, and always interesting from the business side. In this episode we talk with Ardent‘s Bram Sperling, a senior salvage master, about both these aspects of salvage and wreck removal operations.

Thanks for a fascinating insight into the world of ship salvage.
Really interesting, thanks for sharing!
Reminded me quite a lot of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMgzpA1E__A
this when a harrier landed on a ship, and the ship owners provoked salvage laws!
Very interesting, thanks for doing and publishing this!
Thanks for this very interesting episode. I’m looking forward to see more eposides about shipping topics.
Thanks a lot for this episode – very interesting, and something I knew comparatively little about. I got a very good impression of the job and what it involves.
Wieder eine wundervolle Episode. Toller Gesprächspartner und sehr gute Fragen / Gesatltung der Sendung! Danke!
Bitte :)
Very interesting again. I got onboard Omegatau for the space episodes, but these maritime/logistics episodes are also very fascinating. Keep up the good work!
We’ll try :-)
